Natalie & CJs wedding was at the Superstition Manor is Mesa. This is the first time I have been to this venue, and let me tell you, this venue is breathtaking! If you want a blend of classic wedding elegance with the amazing desert landscapes, this is the venue for you! The backdrop of the ceremony is an amazing view of the Superstition Mountains. And if that is not enough, they have giant suites for both the bride and groom to get ready in the day of the wedding. (The guys may or may not have a pool table!)
I started the day photographing the guys getting into their kilts. Luckily, they had someone there that was very versed in putting on kilts (the grooms brother in law was wearing his own personal kilt the day of). I am versed in helping with ties, boutonnieres, and cuff-links. But I have zero ideas when it comes to kilts! They were way more intricate than I thought. After the guys got everything figured out, it was time for the ladies.
After everyone was done getting ready, it was just about time for the ceremony! All the guest had arrived and were in their seats enjoying the amazing views of the Superstition Mountains behind them. Then the processional started. All the guys looked stunning in their kilts. The flower girl looked amazing dressed in a traditional native american outfit while she sprinkled rose petals down the aisle. Then it was finally time for Natalie to walk down the aisle with her dad! Natalie and CJ were all smiles throughout the ceremony. And in what seemed like no time at all, their marriage was sealed with a kiss.
We took their family photos in front of the fountain that was on the grounds of the manor. Then we walked around taking pictures of the bridal party in various locations. I had to get photos with the mountains in the back, which means I had to put the sun in everyone’s face. My least favorite. 🙁 But I have tricks! I had everyone close their eyes, I counted to three, and then they opened them for a few seconds so I could get the picture! It worked great and the picture turned out fantastic.
Natalie and CJ had been taking dance lessons and surprised everyone for their first dance! The bride did her father daughter dance with both her dad and her step-dad. The other events of the night included an anniversary dance, photobooth, bouquet toss, and of course, cutting the cake. And lots and lots of dancing! There were some crazy dance moves busted out that night like knee slides and the worm.
I had so much fun spending the day with Natalie and CJ and all their friends and family. I hope the best for the both of them and their families in the years to come!
