Ashley and Dan met through mutual friends in San Diego.  They may have different accounts about how they first met, but one things is for sure, they are so glad that they did.  They love doing everything together: from traveling to camping to their annual trip to San Diego where they met.  Over the past five years they have built a life together with their Shepard mix Lucy and their son Abraham.

Ashley had always wanted to take photos in Sedona.  Between that desire and the heat in the valley, it was a no brainer to head to the beautiful red rocks for their session.  They choose to take their pictures at Bell Rock to capture more of the beauty of monsoon season.  After all, everyone has sunny, blue sky pictures in Sedona.  But monsoon pictures are truly something special.

Ashley’s family tagged along to help with Abraham, and I am so glad they did!  As soon as we got up the hill to Bell Rock, it started to sprinkle on us!  We got some amazing pictures with their son and then sent everyone back to the dry car.  Ashley, Dan, and I continued exploring, crossing our fingers that it wouldn’t rain too much.  Thankfully, it just sprinkled for the rest our our session.  It was the prefect weather to get pictures of the amazing monsoon clouds without getting soaked!  Once the sun started setting behind the clouds the lightening and thunder started growing.  That was our queue to head back to the cars and drive back down into the valley.  Which was complimented by an amazing lightening storm the entire way.

I am so excited to see Ashley, Dan, and Abraham again in a few months for their wedding at Troon North in October!  They will be decorating with a ton of foliage and cactus.  You know I love cactus and everything green, so I am that much more excited!
