We're Amber & Josh, a Harry Potter obsessed wedding and brand photographery and videography team for those who are anything but ordinary based in Phoenix, Arizona.
When we don't have our cameras in hand, you can find us hiking, snuggling our daughter and pups, or planning our next Disney trip.
I have always had this dream of harvesting fruit from the wild and making gifts for my friends and family. I had so many Sedona engagement session this year, that I got to watch the Prickly Pears ripen. I was so excited, because I usually miss them at peak picking time! But of course, prickly pears are not enough for me. I also wanted to harvest black berries! I mean, prickly pear and blackberry jelly; how amazing does that sound?! So, my husband and I planned a berry picking/prickly pear harvesting date in a location where we knew there was berries and pears.
Today is my 15th anniversary with my husband. That’s right, 15 years ago since this dude started talking to me about bands in a pool and held my hand while watching Finding Nemo. I have known him exactly half of my life. Since the day I met him his has encouraged me to follow my passions and inspired me to push myself to become a better person. To celebrate the past 15 years, I wanted to share 15 pictures from our relationship. Ready? Let’s go!
The first time I hiked to The Crack, I was playing hooky from work. Or, taking a mental health day as it is called now. I told my husband on the next day off he had during the week, I was going to call into work and we were going hiking. I didn’t care where, […]
I am a bit of a nerd about stars. I took astronomy for my science classes in college, so of course, I think I am a bit of an expert. Or at least, I can share some wisdom with my friends while we are out camping. And some of my favorite quotes have to do with stars. “I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars make me dream.” – Vincent Van Gogh and “Keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground” – Teddy Roosevelt. Oh, and then that Coldplay song, “Look at the stars, look how they shine for you.” And we cannot forget Neverland, “Second star to the right and straight on ’til morning.” I digress. My point is that I have this thing for stars.
My husband and I skipped our December Disneyland trip so that I could quit my full time job. Every month that went by, we wanted to go to Disney more and more. We normally go out with a 3 day pass and stay at the Disneyland Hotel. Character dining, the Blue Bayou, all of it. But that was definitely not in the cards being newly self employed. So, I started to do some research to see how cheaply we could go to Disneyland. Old school style, like when we were in our 20s and still living with our parents.
Josh and I used to take annual camping trips up to the Rim every monsoon season. We have not been able to make it up to the Rim the past few years because I was using all my PTO time to photograph weddings and other business related ventures. Since I left my other job in December, I had a list of things I had been missing out on that I wanted to do. One of them, was camping on the rim.
I have always dreamed about going to the Pacific Northwest. But, I was always a little afraid that if I went there I would not want to leave. Rain, humongous trees, and green everywhere? What is not to love?! So for my 30th birthday, I decided to check Seattle off my bucket list. We planned to take the trip a week after my actual birthday, because I was photographing a wedding. (Of course I was!) So I booked our plane tickets, hotel, and rental car and planned out what we would do each day of our trip.
As many of you know, I quit my job at the end of last year. My personal life and health had been thrown through the ringer last year working essentially two full time jobs. But this is my year to fix all that. So here are my personal goals for 2018.
If you have not checked out my blog post about my goals from 2017, go do that now! It explains how I found my goals being completed by the end of the year because I put them into the universe and let my heart be open to different ways of them being accomplished. So, in the spirit of reaching goals, I am putting my 2018 goals out there for the world to see! Here are my top business goals for 2018.
I had some lose goals for 2017 but nothing concrete. Then I wrote them down on a chalkboard and hung it in my office. You know what happened? I reached almost all of my goals without realizing it! I found this so powerful that I wanted to share my goals and how they were achieved. (Because, honestly, it was not in the way I originally planned!) I will also be sharing my 2018 goals on my blog. Because if you put it out there, it will happen!
