My Top 13 Favorite Halloween Movies

Halloween is my favorite holiday!  On the 1st of October my husband and I decorate our house in spooky cobwebs and other decorations I have collected over the years and start our binge watching of Halloween Movies!  I will watch Halloween movies while we decorate, while we make our homemade costumes, while we eat popcorn, and after we hand out candy to the neighborhood kids!  Seriously, all of October!  I thought it was only appropriate to share my favorite Halloween movies to watch over and over again!

  1. Hocus Pocus.  Number one the list and number one in my heart!  I seriously cannot get enough of this one!
  2. Beetlejuice, beetlejuice, beetlejuice!  Me and my bestie dressed up at Beetlejuice and Lydia for Halloween.  We won best costume! (Picture below)
  3. Shuan of the Dead.  You got red on you.
  4. Zombieland.  Apparently I like funny Halloween movies.
  5. The Craft.  Does this one really need an explanation?
  6. Sleepy Hollow.  Johnny Depp & Christina Ricci?  Yes, please!
  7. Adam’s Family.  1 & 2 on repeat.
  8. The Crazies.  I have always loved this one.
  9. ParaNorman.  Great for bedtime.
  10. Casper.  If I tell you I love you, can I keep you forever?
  11. Coraline.  Another great bedtime one… as long as you fall asleep quick…
  12. Resident Evils.  I grew up playing the games and now watching the movies.
  13. Underworlds.  Who doesn’t love some vampire and werewolf action?

Bonus Round!

We always watch the last season of American Horror Story!  (No cable, so we are always a year behind.)

If you noticed from the list above, most of the movies are not that scary.  I think I was scarred from watching super scary movies like Nightmare on Elm Street and Candyman as a child.  So, we usually go to the movies to watch our scary movies and then come home and put on something fun!  I do love the old horror movies though, so I try and rent a new one each year for my husband to watch for the first time.  Last year was Silence of the Lambs.  Maybe this year will be Children of the Corn!
