Papago Park Engagement Session | Tempe, Arizona | Rachael & Alec

I had so much fun photographing Rachael & Alec’s engagement session!  These two are such fun to be around.  They always have a smile on their face and constantly make each other laugh!

Rachael and Alec met during their freshman year of college at ASU.  They were part of a small group of friends who would frequently hang out together.  By the summer they realized they especially loved being around each other and started dating.  They have been inseparable ever since and just celebrated their 4th anniversary!  These two love all things Disney, Harry Potter, and Star Wars.  (So, you know that we hit it off immediately!)  When they are not spending time with their family or watching ASU sporting events together, they are sneaking off for trips to Disneyland, the Wizarding World, and Prescott!

Being graduates of ASU, and having met in Tempe, they knew there engagement session needed to be somewhere in the area.  They choose to have their pictures at the ever gorgeous Papago Park.  While we were exploring the park, they told me they had not actually been there together before!  We explored the park, joked about going to the zoo, and stuck around for the amazing sunset.  After that we jumped in the cars to head to our second location, Mill Ave Bridge.

I am not going to lie, I was a little nervous about photographing them on the bridge.  I had only ever driven over it a handful of times and walked across it once years ago.  And, I don’t shoot many portraits at night (usually the only thing I shoot at night is receptions!).  But I knew how special Tempe was to Rachael and Alec, and this bridge is a staple, so I did it despite my nervousness.  And you know what?!  They turned out amazing!!!  The lights on the bridge were bright, the traffic had lots of breaks in it, and Rachael and Alec were more than patient with waiting for the cars!  We were able to capture the beauty of the lights and architecture of the bridge with these two front and center!

Working with Rachael and Alec was a dream!  I cannot wait for their wedding this Spring at the Rio Salado Audubon.  (Which happens to be on my birthday!)
